IAI XSEL-KX-NNN5020-N1-EEE-2-2 is a four-axis program controller for a matching IAI IX-series SCARA robot using the NNN5020 configuration. XSEL-KX belongs to an earlier generation of IAI SCARA robot controllers. IAI lists the XSEL-K and XSEL-KX generation as discontinued products. Newer XSEL platforms may be proposed as successors, but dimensional, electrical, robot, communication, firmware and software differences mean that a newer controller should not be treated as a direct drop-in replacement.
Before replacement, back up the SEL program, position data, parameters, I/O assignments and system configuration. Photograph the controller label, robot nameplate, motor and encoder connectors, communication wiring and safety connections before removing the original unit.
Verify the exact NNN5020 robot configuration rather than purchasing by the XSEL-KX series name alone. A controller intended for NNN6020 or another robot size may have different motor capacity and parameter requirements even when the enclosure and connectors appear similar.
